To all the karaoke haters!! This place Is AWESOME !!! If you really judging a place just because they have karaoke singers or the karaoke people was ear piercing, it's just like adding water to a flood. And some people do sing bad. That's true tho. We really enjoyed our first experience here, loved the wings, and the fact that is next to the water and not overpriced, is a plus. Really good service, and lovely ambience. We loved it. Don't let us down :)

DO NOT COME ON KARAOKE NIGHT! Unless you like not to hear the person sitting right in front of you and repeating yourself 5 times. Some good singers. But, mostly bad. Singing loader does NOT make you sound better. Our waiter was good and the perfect height to wait tables and remain able to keep eye contact. I'm not getting on him because he was short. It was just convenient. Food runner brings out our sweat potato fries... HIM-"Here are your fries." ME-"Oh, thank you." ME-"Wait a minute. You forgot the ranch." HIM-"Uh, I'll bring it out right now." ... ...... .......... Nearly ten minutes go by and the food runner never returns. I have to flag down our waiter for it. He is running in circles. Why would the manager put him on half the table in the restaurant?? Poor management maybe? My fries are cold by the time I get the ranch. "I didn't need those anyway. My thighs are big enough as it is." I tell myself. I'll come back here when I want to blow my eardrums out and waist my food. The End

Arrived by Water Taxi and this was highly recommended by the other passengers onboard. Now for the good news it is clean and brightly decorated in tropical colors. You feel you have been transported to the islands. The menu looked like all pre pared items nothing that was actually made on the premises so we had drinks instead. I had a frozen strawberry daiquiri and my husband a margarita. He said his was too sweet so he switched to frozen margaritas instead. Great place for drinks and to watch the boats going by on the waterway.

I had not been to FF for may years and probably wasn't Yelping when I first visited. But just visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for lunch. Parking can be tricky since they don't have valet parking. But the setting right on the Intracoastal can't be beat. I had a frozen Rum Runner to start and it was great. My swiss burger was fine, was supposed to be cooked medium, but it was well done instead. So, instead of awesome, it was just ok. My friends enjoyed their meals. Service was friendly and attentive. Sit back and watch the boats and the people, have a drink and some decent food at Flip Flops!

Really cool establishment. Well known local spot and its right on the water. After a long day on the water its perfect to kick back and relax for dinner. Watch the sunset and even better watch the Winterfest Boat Parade in december!

Wonderful food, great atmosphere! I ordered the crab cakes and a quesadilla and I was so happy with my order.

Good Sunday Funday spot... we took the water taxi to and it dropped us off right here. Coconut shrimp and smoked seafood dip were both good... and the specials were priced well. $3 mimosas was also a strong selling point for Sunday Funday. We will be back there again atmosphere was strong and right on the water as well.

A lot has changed since 4 year old prior review of Flip Flops. The most notable are in the menu which is now very limited, consisting of mostly comfort or easy foods like burgers, tacos, calamari, ribs, wings; nothing particularly unique or exceptional however with what they do serve, they do a pretty darn good job of it. Their calamari is tender, done just right and not greasy. Their tacos are good and their smoked fish dip actually being outstanding; I'd say the best smoked fish dip in town. Though overall I might rate the food as being Three Star Plus, I'm going to keep with my Four Star rating because of Flip Flops pleasant location along the Intracoastal, its laid back Key West like atmosphere but more particularly because of its rather decent daily or monthly specials and events. Every day except on Mondays they offer specials on dinning such as Sunday Fundays with Caribbean music and $3 dollar Bloody Marys or Mimosas. Saturdays are ribs and $4 Sky Vodka, and Tuesdays with Philly Cheesesteaks. It's best to check their website in order to know what is happening. One of their best is the first Sunday of the month T-Dance. In case you don't know what a T-Dance is, it's a rather specific gay cultural term originating from the French expression of "the dansant" or literally "dancing tea." It's the only T-Dance held on the Intracoastal with some of the very best in drag queen entertainment. It's about as lively, hilarious and fun as thing can get, really very popular, and crowds up fast. The very best thing about it is that it is, though clearly gay themed, a fun for everybody event with a very mixed crowd, generally being about 1/3 gay and 2/3rds straight, but all joining in, enjoying each other and having a super good blow out time of it. It was particularly lively when I was last there as it was close in time to when Federal Judge Hinkle put an end to Florida's ban on gay marriages with everyone celebrating like crazy. So, if you're not a Pam Bondi (that's Florida's Attorney general and recipient of several "Loser of the Year" awards) creep, a good sport and enjoy a fun time, I highly recommend it.

This has been bookmarked for a while and it finally got checked off the list. A perfect dockside restaurant, made perfect by a gorgeous May evening. Start with the Fish Dip or Mile High Nachos. If you go with the nachos that might be all you need, it is truly Mile High and loaded with goodness. The Philly Cheese Steak reminded of Dan's Sub Shop, a perfect ratio of cheese to meat placed into a wonderfully fresh hoagie roll. I foresee a few more south Florida evenings spent here. Our waiter kept of glasses full and made sure there was nothing we were missing.

I was somewhat impressed for the first 10 minutes until the karaoke kicked in. It was so ear piercing I couldn't hear anyone at my table. The food was good but as the restaurant got busier the service got worse. I don't like chasing my waiter and all I did was try to track this guy down. My suggestion: Stop by the bar for a beer and then move on.......

My husband and I just had to try this place on a Saturday night the food was consistent very good cute place but the waitress looked like she would rather be anywhere but here. Slow service he kept having it and ask for refill it seemed like she was a bit overwhelmed. Good food at reasonable prices but don't come here for the service or you'll be disappointed I will give it one more shot

This place had a casual laid back feel and a nice outdoor area overseeing the water. We had the wings during happy hour with cocktails and had a great time. I cannot judge much else since what I got was simple, but overall I had a good experience.

Always a good time. Incredible how they can take care of so many people at once. Great place to grab a drink and some great food right on the intracoastal.

After spending all day at the beach, we were in the mood to eat outdoors. We read the Yelp reviews and thought we'd try it. We were not disappointed. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the full rack of ribs, on special for $13.99, and it was fall off the bone, finger licking good!!! I had the Fisherman's Platter, which included a nice sized piece of Mahi, a crab cake, and about a dozen shrimp, all perfectly cooked. Both plates were very generous sized portions. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was nice to sit there watching the boats pass by. Next time, we'll take the water taxi, which stops right there, and cruise the intracoastal ourselves. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of the entire time we were there. Yelp hasn't failed me yet!

  • Sean R.

Checked this place out in a Sunday afternoon. Very cool Key West vibe!!! Great crowd of people in different age groups. There was a drag show going on (apparently it's once a month), good mix of straights and gays. The drinks are cheap, you get what you pay for. I would go back for the $3 drinks without a second thought!!! The $13 nacho plate I saw was HUGE!!! And I asked a few people they all said it was tasty and well worth it, for about 6 people.

I was drawn into this place from our passing watercraft like a magnetic and undeniable vortex. See, I wear flip flops. Like all the time. All the TIME! I grew up in Miami and my pal Mike Lingswiler got me flip flopped way back and sent me on this path. Thanks Mike! My dad referred to his flip flops differently: * Zori's * Sandals * Slippers * Zarachi's * Shower Shoes Sorry about the spelling. Dad's been gone for many moons. My Mom gets frustrated because I try and wear my flip flops longer than their designed usefulness. Any hooo, this place is cool, because: * Waterfront * Small * Cozy * Casual * People dancing to the D.J. * Fairly priced for being on the water * Friendly and affable bartender * You can come and go via the Water Taxi Can't wait to try the food. Cabeza Forever in Flip Flops!

Rude, unhelpful service. Mediocre food. Asked to speak to manager so waiter sent "manager" over who turned out to be not the manager and said he would have to talk to the real manager who couldn't be found.

I went on a Saturday afternoon at 2pm. The place was packed and they had a dj playing. There is a dance floor too. It is a very beach spring break like bar. We ordered food and it took 45 minutes to get it. The cheese quesadilla had minimal cheese and a side of sour cream. We complained and the server said they usually don't look like that. He reordered them and the new ones were much better and came with a side of fresh peccadillo. We had to ask multiple times for water refills. They appeared to be understaffed with servers and cooks. You get a free drink with Yelp check in along with a food purchase. This place seems like a great place to watch the boats go by, but they need to work on their service issues. There is a parking garage across from it with meters. I would not rush back to this place when there is Bokampers one block north with better quality food and service.

First I would like to say that I would give this place another try. We ended up coming here because we saw it on Yelp! and wanted to go somewhere new. We got there at 7 and went inside anyway even though it said it closed at 7. They were still accepting people and the kitchen was winding down. We sat quickly at a high top and were addressed quickly by our server. We ordered drinks to find out we were getting happy hour prices (good call). We ordered food and it did take a little longer than expected to get our food. The Ultimate Nachos didn't have as much meat on it as I had expected and they used Cheese Whiz for cheese (yikes). The chicken wings were dry like they had been under a lamp for a while. I attribute this to us coming after 7pm and the kitchen closing at 8pm. I most likely won't come near closing again. Learned mistake. My only problem with the place was that our server was hitting on the girls at another table and taking down their phone numbers after he had just pumped them with 3-4 shots of some type of alcohol. He was also hitting on some other girls near the bar and trying to get them to have shots as well. This, in my opinion, was very unprofessional but maybe that is how it is at this "Spring Break" type of bar. The view was spectacular and is located right next to another famous restaurant. If you like casual flip flop type environments, this is the place for you. Like I said in the beginning, I will come back to this place on a different night to see if my first impression was just a fluke..

  • Pam S.

My parents and I had a wonderful time here - the wait staff is so friendly! (Thanks, Dan!) The food is great and very reasonably-priced and it's such a fun, casual place with a great view. We even got to see three dolphins!

  • Cherir C.

Yeah..This is a mixed review. We were there this Tuesday night. There is a country ? Singer there that made my guest want to leave. Lol I convinced him to stay. The staff seemed to want to leave too. They were a bit above it all. However, anything we needed they did. The drinks and food were ok. The view was great. Ill attach a photo I took. The place could use a good scrubbing. Ill try it again. It's close to home and I love eating by the water. Ill let you know what happens.

Open + airy . Went for Sunday $7.00 menu. There was a single man playing good music. NO PARKING or valet. One long bar nobody at, but the small bar close to dock is busy they had a HH food menu so we ordered the sliced off the bird turkey sliders w/ cilantro alio JuSt ok the turkey was nice but the roll not so .

  • Tony T.

I have eaten here about 5 times. - great on Sundays ($7 menu) after the beach for a Key West, dockside atmosphere. - the SPICY sweet-n-sour dipping sauce that came with the Coconut Shrimp is incredible. I would actually go so far as to say 'heavenly'! - the macaroni and cheese was spectacular as well! - good margaritas *** park in the parking garage across the street. *** the Water Taxi also parks there!

the mussels are delicious and the crab cakes have big pieces of real crab. food seasoned really good. will come again!!! Jill is awesome if you visit I hope you are lucky as we were to have her as our waitress!!!

I love Key West style restaurants where you can relax and have fun. You don't have to worry about the kids or the noise. It's just a great time! The music is fun. The food is good. The service is okay, but you get great prices so enjoy the atmosphere and relax in a fun place, on the water, in the sun or in the evening. I enjoy the fish or chicken tacos with the chipotle drizzle, but my friends always get the ribs! Yum! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I've always had a fun time here, whether I go with friends or I just go by myself. I always end up talking to someone there and laughing and enjoying myself. Bring a crowd or just a friend! Karaoke on Fridays is so much fun! You might even find me singing "Friends in Low Places". Sorry 'bout that! And once a month, on the first Sunday of each month, they have a drag show, which is hilarious! Those "girls" really know how to have a good time. Bring your boat to the dock, or drive up. There's plenty of metered parking in the garage. I'll be back!

We came to Flip Flops in April and returned in June. Great food and atmosphere right on the intercoastal. Wait staff is very friendly and quick. Will return next time we're in Ft. Lauderdale!

Update:Nov 2014 This is my favorite place in all of the land. We have brought just about everyone we know here. It's like Cheers for us :) We loved this place. We wanted to take advantage of living in Florida and all of the wonderful places Florida has to offer, so I looked up waterfront bars on yelp. I had no idea this place existed. It was very beachy, filled with pastels. It has a great view of the Intracoastal. The food is decent bar food, not a very extensive menu but the wings were great and my boyfriend loved the fish dip We took full advantage of their Sunday specials $3 well drinks and $3 mimosas. We spent about 5 hrs there, and never felt rushed. It never got full but we did see many come and go. There was a man playing live music and we enjoyed listening to him. We will be regulars here

    (5)
  • David K.

A good bet for casual dining with open-air views of the intercostal. Today, for example, had a nice happy hour special of $3 drafts, $3 well drinks, and 2-for-1 wings. The main value here is the easy-going atmosphere. It'd be easy to spend the better part of the day getting your drink and grub on!

    (4)
  • Morgan T.

The service is good, the bartenders are awesome, the food is great. Always fun to sit and watch boat traffic . I always bring people visiting from out of town here and suggest it all the time to my friends! #loveit

Great casual food. Fun atmosphere. Experienced staff, great drink specials, and location location Location!! Highly recommend taking the water taxi there and having dinner! Great food for the whole family. Live music that wasn't too loud so you can still have a nice conversation with your guests!

  • John N.

This is a great place to hang out on the Intracoastal Waterway with great food and drinks. Great deals on happy hour. The bartender told us about all their specials and food items. The prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff and good service. We had a nice time and will definately go back again.

  • Bob S.

Terrible food...terrible service. The host was extremely rude and defensive. We ended up just going to Shooters next door... I would do the same if I were you.

    (1)
  • Melissa R.

The only negative is the place closes too early. It is what it is - a casual waterfront place. Shooters located next door is sleek and stylish -this is casual and laid back with good and well prices food. Nachos are served in an enormous portion. The ribs which are often on special are worth the full price and the fish tacos were great. They just need to bring back the kids menu that still exists on yelp or at least honor it when you ask about it.

    (4)
  • Rena S.

Awesome place. Great service and atmosphere. If you were heading to Shooters, so a favor and go here instead.

    (5)
  • Angela S.

Nice setting while cruising on the water taxi. Had a descent beer selection. Ordered the monster nachos, they were awesome and enough for 4 people!!!! Excellent waitress. Nice reggae music, airey vibe. Casual but not trashy.

  • Alyse C.

Great place! We stopped here around 2:00 pm, during happy hour, via the Water Taxi (also recommended). I had blackened mahi mahi and a few beers. The food was hot and delicious, and the environment was great: Right on the water, shade if you want it, a laid-back crowd, friendly service, and fair prices.

    (5)
  • Chris M.

Pretty average at best folks. I should have known when we walked in and could see right into the kitchen and it looked filthy. Yes, you're on the intercoastal but the food was not good and the service was really slow. This place expects the view to make all the difference, which is the only reason I offered 2 stars. Wife's hamburger tasted funny like the meat was bad and she couldn't eat it. Daughter ordered sliders and a side of onion rings. They charged us 8 bucks for the onion rings! 7-8 onion rings and they were nothing special. I'll cross this one off the "check it out" list. We won't be back.

    (2)
  • Robert C.

Good atmosphere and the drinks are great! The only thing I didn't like was that the employees were smoking right beside our table. Karaoke was a blast!

    (4)
  • Beth M.

Great place. My husband and I were traveling, exhausted, and super hungry. But me being me I searched the hell out of restaurants online to see what could offer us seafood options near the water, that wasn't a shit hole, and was affordable. This place popped up. We got there before it closed on a Sunday so it was a tad dead, but service was great. They never once made us feel rushed even when we got our food about 10 minutes before they closed. We were right next to the water, which was peaceful. We got the Fisherman's platter and mahi-mahi sandwich, both of which were delicious. Yes, their decor is a little ... well, we were trying to figure out what exactly they were going for, but it didn't matter. This place hits the spot while saving money.

    (5)
  • Ele C.

Nice location on the water where boats and water taxi make stops. Just hung out for some nachos (metric ton sized portion) and a glass of wine and listened to music. The server was very attentive and had to be-the mini sized soda portion he had to keep running back and forth to refill it.

  • Jennifer O.

This place is a local neighborhood gem on the intercoastal. Daily happy hours on drinks and food. Our favorites, Saturday night, half off ribs. These are fall off the bone ribs. So good! Wednesdays are also a good night with 2 dozen wings for $10. Every Sunday is $3 happy hour for domestic beers and well liquor. Bartender staff is all great. Some are more fun and talkative than others. Metered parking at garage across the street.

    (4)
  • Vanessa D.

I went there for karaoke and I was highly disappointed . I got there at 11 and and the gentleman running the karaoke machine stated that they close at 11:30. The manager explained that there is a noise ordinance. I understood completely until I saw other people going up for karaoke, so I was perplexed and upset because it was 11:55. Please stick to your policy. I will not be coming back nor will I be bringing others.

    (1)
  • Rick A.

If you enjoy inattentive and rude service, this is the spot for you. Still waiting for refills, and a check back to see how our food came out. Our check was later slammed down on the table without even a simple thank you. The food was average; nothing special. You are definitely paying for the intercoastal view.

    (1)
  • Tyler S.

This place is cute. Kind of like having a waterfront meal in some little Caribbean island. Menu is simple and not exactly for the health conscious but I had the blackened grouper sandwich and it was enjoyable. I will come back sometime soon with a large group and hopefully see some of their live music.

    (4)
  • Solange D.

Meh, at first I was really excited to find a nice, affordable place outside by the water...but the food is mediocre, definitely not bad, but nothing to write home about either. And It's annoying that they close so early! We've gone back more than once but I wouldn't take a foodie looking for great mangia there...

    (3)
  • Erik S.

As odd as it may seem, this place was one of the best places on our trip to Florida. We took the Water Taxi (highly recommended) to Flip Flops. We were looking for a very casual place to sit down and get something to eat. The prices were good and seating right on the water was awesome. It felt like a place you would meet friends for happy hour and just drink the evening away. The service was a little slow but it didn't matter. We were on vacation and the beer was cold. Good selection on the menu and a good selection of beer.

    (5)
  • Lisa D.

Quite possibly the worst service ever. After waiting 20 minutes to find our waiter, I asked another server to find him. She advised me "he went on an errand". Nice of him not to tell us or for the others to cover. No kids menu, FYI. $11 for 3 chicken fingers. In my back yard so disappointing

    (1)
  • C T.

I came here twice on my vacation for wings! It's hard to find great wings and this was a great find! Awesome location on the water!

    (4)
  • Deb S.

Great location on the intercostal. You can't ask for a better place to relax, have some food and drinks. Service was great and the food was really satisfying. Large portions and very reasonable prices . Will definitely go back.

  • Steve W.

For what it is, it is 5 stars. Just know what it is. A non air conditioned outdoor spot on waterway. Good cheap beer, decent bar food, cheap prices, great server. Service beats many high end places in area. Cheesy guy singing karaoke as entertainment. Maybe that gets better, but he was brutal and loud. For beach vibe with killer view and bar menu you can't go wrong.

    (4)
  • Michael A.

We were out on the boat and it started raining sideways. There were 9 of us and we were drenched. We found this gem and tied off on their dock. One of the servers even helped us and he got drenched as well. We found this place by accident, but it was a great find. The food was great and the menu was impressive

    (5)
  • Jonny T.

Great place. Popped in yesterday afternoon for a couple of beers & grub. Mooncat had the coconut shrimp AND the basket of spicy fried shrimp & enjoyed it. I had the ribs which were excellent. And they had some decent hot sauce. Reminded me of places I would go to in the Caribbean when I worked on cruise ships. And any place that has a Paddy barman has to be good. Paddies or Aussies make the best bar staff in my humble opinion.

    (4)
  • Melinda R.

This place is great! We've eaten here several times and the food is consistently good. I've tried the fish and the burgers everything on the menu is a good choice. The location is right on the water so on a nice day eating on the deck is a wonderful experience. Service has always been good. The only complaint I have is there is no changing table in the bathroom. Otherwise I highly recommend this restaurant.

I went to Flip Flops on Sunday March 29th. Very cute place. I sat down with my friend and out waitress greeted us. Service started out pretty good, we got our drink order and appetizer came out pretty quick. We placed our food order and then that's where the bad experience happened. We waited an hour and 15 minutes before our food came out. Then our waitress preceded to serve one of the entrees that should have never left the kitchen. The burger was burnt to a crisp basically looked like a hockey puck. The meal was returned. At this point we were over this place. Our waitress never offered another entree nor can back to apologize or anything. I asked to see a manager and she questioned me as to why. The manager finally came over and didn't seem like he even cared. His exact words to me were that they weren't used to a crowd like this. He also didn't offer anything to us. I wasn't looking for something free but he could have made an effort but didn't. I will never dine here again. The atmosphere is great but the service is terrible. Don't waste your time!

We found this place completely by accident and we're pretty happy we gave it a try! Food was good and drink specials were great! And the had karaoke there that night too!! So much fun!!!

  • Robin S.

Fun and relaxed place to eat!! Do not expect speedy service and be grateful for that!!! This is a good place to eat. There are 3 restaurants on this intercostal strip and Flip Flops is the one you should choose when coming here or are on the Water Taxi. Your wallet will ALSO thank you. Dogs are welcomed as well.

My son and I found this place last year during his school Spring Break. I was looking for a place to have lunch by the water. So glad I picked Flip Flops. We have been back several times. The food is yummy and inexpensive. My son ordered a fried shrimp basket (which is served in a beach bucket so cute!) and it can filled with tons of shrimp. There were at least 2 dozen nice sized shrimp and the meal was less than $10. On another visit, members of my family had a variety of items from the menu and everyone was happy - wings, burger, various seafood dishes. No complaints. Those who have posted negative reviews must have been expecting gourmet seafood. The prices are low and so are the frills. Aside from the food, you are on the Intercoastal, the decor is colorful and fun, and they have live entertainment in weekends. Their signature drink the Horny Parrot is delicious! It's a great place to stop for lunch or hang out at night and listen to music or karaoke. Plenty of parking- there's a garage directly across the street- Or you can get there by water taxi. Check it out! You won't be disappointed.

Chillin little beach vibe bar with intercoastal views. Good bar food menu and cheap beers. Servers are on their game and keep you hydrated. No airconditioning so mid day in heat of summer a little warm. But it is covered and is a great outdoor spot to grab a bite.

  • Stalk J.

The only good thing about this place is the location. The food was garbage, the staff was rude, and the owner is an asshole. I definitely won't spend another dime here and I'll be sure to let people know how I feel when asked. What a shame, I was actually excited to check this place out based on other yelp reviews.

  • Robert W.

What a great place to have a few drinks or have a meal. It was great sitting on the dock to have a couple drinks and then having dinner too. They even had a live DJ. The wait staff was very friendly, the drinks and the food were excellant and the prices were very reasonable. I even went back for another drink later that evening. Very convienient if you are on the Water Taxi(stop #10). I would definetly recommend Flip Flops Dockside Eatery to all of my friends!

  • Stephen B.

Good atmosphere. On the Intercoastal. But service was very show. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and they were not busy. Took about 10 mins before anyone came to wait on us. Meal was good. Had the fish tacos with the "sauce" on the side. But they forgot the sauce. Didn't bring utensils (had to borrow from another table). Not a bad experience. I will come back and give them a see see second Chance and hope the service is better.

On the intercoastal. It was cheap and the ten of us all liked our food. We got a tan on the dock drinking spicy bloody marys. The staff is fun and friendly, especially Carrie. They also have Wii, if you need a break from the sun.

Great view, great laid back atmosphere, great service, awesome $6 Sunday menu, I guess this is why we're regulars now.

We stopped here along our water taxi tour. Sunday is the day to go--nothing on the menu exceeds $6! I got a grilled Mahi sandwich with fries and coleslaw for $6. Can't beat that! And yes, it was good. My friend got a cheeseburger, same sides, and was quite pleased. We each ordered the $5 Pinkie; not sure if there was liquor in them or not, but they were still tasty and refreshing. Our waiter was great, and we were able to sit there long after finishing our meals w/out any "you're taking up a table" glares. Great location, they even had a Wii set up, as well as a DJ playing a pretty great mix.

Ok, ok... the place is not fancy, nor are the wait staff expertly trained. Yes, you may have to wait a bit for a drink or for some food (ok, maybe even attention), BUT if you go in with a laid back attitude this place is quite enjoyable. They are located right next to Shooters (BTW - if you want great service, go THERE, just keep in mind their prices are about 1/3 higher, you get what you pay for) and they are right on the Intracoastal Waterway. You can snag a lounge chair right at the edge of their dock and watch the boats float by. My mom and I stopped by this place and she had a cosmo and I had a glass of wine, both served chilled and my mom's cosmo was actually pretty tasty. We then shared some conch fritters, which were also pretty decent. I mean they were fried and it was definitely bar food, but they were ok. I agree with Craig S. wholeheartedly, its very laid back and a great place to catch up with friends. They have Karaoke on Fridays too. Overall, its a decent place with a fabulous location and fair prices. Some of the other reviewers may have been a wee bit harsh. The place is called Flip Flops, not Louboutins.

Love going to hang out at this location because of the location, right on the intercostal with the boats going by. On a warm day with the water, sun and ambience it can be compared to something you would experience on the Caribbean islands. I consider this a place to get a snack at and some cheap drinks. If you are wanting good food and service this is not the place to go. It's very laid back and more a place to take a group of friends to catch up. Wednesday they have buy 1 entree get one free mixed with happy hour 2 for 1 drinks - this is a pretty good deal. Sunday's is $6 menu, everything on the menu is $6. They have a kids area where the kids can hang out and play the wii.

From a distance, you might not give this place a second look. I was talked into popping in one day and glad we did- Sunday's $6 menu rocks! We sat in some Adirondak chairs and watched the boats go by all afternoon while catching a great buzz. Food is great and Jay rocks as bartender- Ask him to break out the snacks.

First time here. Road in on a boat with friends, greeted right away by staff! Food was very good! Loved the Buffalo Chicken Wrap! Price was very reasonable and atmosphere was perfect for the night!

A welcome alternative to the overpriced Shooters next door. Flip Flops is a great place to have a drink and chill out with a date or family. If you're looking for good drinks with casual food, I recommend you give it a try. At worst, you'll have a great view of the intercoastal.

Good food right along side of the intracoastal. My burger had to be sent back bec it was over done. Service is attentive but slooooooow. We were one of three tables and our order of two standard burgers took 30 minutes the first time around and another 10 the second.

Beautiful location on the water but they were out of wings, linguini, "jambagumbo" at 9:30 on Friday night. It only seemed they were out of beer because of how long it took to get one. Still don't know what kind of"fish" are in those tacos. Thank goodness for Tobasco!

I loved the location of this place and the views. The food was good (granted all I ate was the coconut fried shrimp). Its bar food, but not bad. My mojito was good too.

This is the kind of place where you want to pull up an Adirondack chair to the edge of the dock and spend the afternoon. The chips and salsa are amazing - I am still dreaming about them! Some unusual touches such as the tostones served with the ceviche give this place some culinary pizzaz. The staff and owners are very welcoming and make you feel like you want to come back.

After 2 nights of the upscale lounges on Atlantic Ave this was the laid back place I was looking for on my trip to FLA. It reminded me of place down in the keys. Bar tender was really friendly and owner Ann came by and talked to us. I got the grouper sandwich and my wife got the fish taco's which were better but both pretty good. Great place to get a drink and watch the boats pass by. Great overall value for the price. I recommend it if you want a casual and fun place.

This is a prime Intercoastal location with a great casual atmosphere! We went there for drinks before taking the water taxi - great service, friendly staff and lots of fun. I definitely would recommend this place!

After enough attitudes and drinks at the Meat market next door, flip flops stayed open for us while waiting for the water taxi. Wish we wouldve gone to this place first. Jackie the bartender is adorable!!!

I came here during the first few weeks after opening. And maybe they didn't have their act together yet. We walked in and were hit by a cloud of a smell that we quickly identified as weed. The entire place wreaked of it. I don't know what was going on, maybe they were grilling the burgers on hemp leaves in the kitchen, I highly doubt anything illegal goes on in there, but I'm just saying. We were the only customers during our one hour stay. The menu was very short. The wait on the other hand was very long. The waitress put double fried, super greasy pita chips on our table to snack on, I kept waiting for some kind of dip, which never came. The long awaited food finally came and was so-so. Oh and they had 2 different kinds of music (techno and reggae) from two different stereos playing. The whole experience has been absolutely crazy and I haven't returned since and don't think I ever will.

Nice view. Average food. Poor service. Could not get get attention even though there were only a few tables of people on a beautiful afternoon. When I asked for the check after 15 min. I got a rude look, no verbal response and a waiter who walked away and returned to slam the check down. I had asked nicely. We will not go back. Plenty of places with good food on the water.
